The Indigo Arts Project is an arts initiative that aims to create access to the arts for all students. Indigo specializes in the performing arts and arts integrated learning, for students K-12, and have consulted and offered arts and arts integrated programming around the country, including consulting The President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities for the White House in the Obama Administration. The arts have long since been connected to student achievement, academically, and socially. Researchers have even linked higher SAT scores with students who have participated in the arts for a longer period of time, throughout their academic careers (Vaughn & Winner, 2000). While some schools in our country are doing away with the arts, altogether, others are intentionally integrating the arts and assessing its benefits.
